LADY SOLON LAUDS MAKATI MED FOR RECONNECTING SEVERED ARM OF MRT 3 ACCIDENT VICTIM
I congratulate the doctors and management of the Makati Medical Center for saving the arm of Ms. Angeline Fernando after it got severed in an accident yesterday at the MRT 3.
However, the obligations of MRT 3 to Miss Fernando are not yet over. MRT 3 must continue to address all her medical and recovery needs, including helping finding a solution to her apparent aversion to crowded public places.
Ms. Fernando will be absent from work while she recovers. I hope she will still have work to return to. MRT 3, representing the government, must stand by her during this difficult time. PhilHealth and DOH and DSWD should also extend assistance.
As Chair of the House Committee on Public Information and Member of the House Committee on Metro-Manila Development, I call on MRT 3 and the DOTR to submit a written report to Congress detailing how the accident involving Ms. Fernando happened and their response measures and changes to security and safety protocols.
I also ask MRT 3 to submit to Congress a copy of the raw footage of the incident. (END)
