QC COPS HAUL P2.4-MILLION MARIJUANA
Quezon City anti-narcotics agents arrested two Cordillera-based suspects believed responsible for the trafficking of Marijuana products to Metro Manila.
PNP Chief, Police General Debold M Sinas reiterated his earlier instructions to the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-EG),including other National Operating Units to step-up supply reduction operations in anticipation of the increased demand for illegal drugs this holiday season.
In a report to PNP Chief, Police General Debold M Sinas, NCRPO Regional Director, Police Major General Vicente Danao Jr. said 20 kilograms of high-grade marijuana were confiscated from suspects DARYL COLLERA y COMOT, 24yo,of Sitio ng Timoy, Poblacion Bakun, Benguet; and MURRAY COMOT y SAGONG, 29yo, of Buyagan La Trinidad Benguet Province.
A background check on the suspects showed a previously dismissed case in 2015 for alleged Rape filed against Daryl Collera before the RTC Branch 64 of Buguias, Benguet.
Danao said the suspects on board a Black Toyota Innova were arrested in a buy-bust operation launched by operatives of QCPD Police Station-4 along Quirino Highway, Brgy. Bagbag, Novaliches at 3:45 AM on Monday.
The confiscated Marijuana, weighing approximately 20 kilograms with an estimated street value of P2.4-million was neatly packed in twenty elongated packages wrapped in packaging tape, Danao said.
As required under RA 9165, the inventory of the confiscated Marijuana was witnessed onsite by Barangay Kagawad Betty Vitangcol of Brgy. Bagbag, Novaliches, Quezon City and media representative Leody Tobias of Radyo ng Masa, Danao reported.
He said the suspects will be presented to a state prosecutor for inquest proceedings upon completion of booking and documentation procedures.
