Justice Morales inaugurates Ombudsman Building in Rosales03 May 2012
Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales led the inauguration of the newly-constructed Ombudsman Building in Carmay East, Rosales, Pangasinan last 30 April 2012. This included the unveiling of the marker at the entrance of the three story building with the assistance of former Ombudsman Merceditas N. Gutierrez during whose term the establishment of this regional office was initiated.
OMB- Rosales is the second satellite office of the OMB-Luzon, after the Calamba, Laguna satellite office. Under the direct supervision of the Office of the Deputy Ombudsman for Luzon, it shall primarily serve Regions I, II, III and the Cordillera Autonomous Region (CAR).
Ombudsman Morales said that this satellite office, once fully operational, shall bring the gospel of good governance, public accountability and assistance closer to the people of Northern Luzon. A daughter of the region, she stressed in the local dialect that “government officials should focus on delivering with integrity their service to the people and must always prioritize public interest.â€
Those who graced the inauguration included local officials led by Rosales Mayor Ricardo Revita, and Ex-Congressman Conrado M. Estrella III, Quirino Gov. Junie Cua, Mr. Pancracio Rodriguez, Assistant Ombudsman Weomark Layson, PACPO Luzon OIC Raquel Rosario Cunanan-Marayag and Dir. Rabendranath Uy.
The building is the fifth establishment to be put up within this Government Center, after the National Tobacco Administration, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Dept. of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Land Transportation Office (LTO). Currently, the hearing room in the building is being completed while installation of other facilities, telephone and communications access are underway.
