DOE Press Release
Energy Family to Launch 2019 Energy Consciousness Month

TAGUIG CITY - The energy family headed by Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi gears up for the opening of the 2019 National Energy Consciousness Month (NECM) and the DOE's 47th Anniversary on 2 December 2019 at the agency’s headquarters.

“With energy as a key element in our daily lives, the energy family has been tirelessly working towards providing secure, stable, reliable, accessible, and affordable energy services throughout the entire archipelago. We are united in our commitment to remain faithful in serving the public’s best interests in all that we do,” Secretary Cusi underscored.

The 2019 NECM theme, “Advancing Consumer Protection through Responsive and Proactive Energy Regulations”, celebrates the energy family’s efforts to uphold consumer welfare through increased awareness on energy matters, as well as the implementation of various programs, policies, guidelines, and rules that have been benefitting each and every Filipino.

The activities in store for this year’s NECM include the Energy Investment Forum; Energy Safety, Health and Environment Conference; and a Renewable Energy Expo.

To commence this year’s NECM, Secretary Cusi and the heads of the DOE’s attached agencies will hold a press conference on Monday (2 December) at the DOE-Audio Visual Room at 10 o’clock in the morning.
