DRUG-DEALING LANAO COUPLE BUSTED BY PDEG;
2 CLANDESTINE MARIJUANA FARMS DESTROYED IN BENGUET

PNP Chief, Police General Debold M Sinas took to task the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG), under a new leadership, to “lead the charge” in the anti-illegal drugs campaign of the PNP.

“Because the anti-illegal drugs program is a national crusade, then it shall be among the flagship law enforcement campaigns of the PNP,” Sinas said as he cited the latest operational accomplishment of PDEG in the anti-drug drive with the arrest of a couple in Lanao del Sur this afternoon for drug trafficking.

A report received by Sinas, while on an official regional sortie in the Visayas, from newly-installed PDEG Director, Police Brigadier General Ronald Lee said the one (1) kilogram of Shabu worth approximately P6.8-million based on standard estimates of the Dangerous Drugs Board was confiscate from the suspects.

According to Lee, The PDEG operatives were backed by personnel from t Wao Municipal Police Station and 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company of Lanao Del Sur Police Provincial Office.

The suspects will be presented before the prosecutor for inquest proceedings for violation of RA 9165, Lee said.

On the same day in the Cordillera, police swooped down on two clandestine Marijuana farms in Bakun, Benguet.

Personnel from Bakun Municipal Police Station led by Police Lieutenant Gideon Bennaguen raided the two Marijuana plantation sites in Sitio Lepsik and Sitio Mabilig, both in Kayapa, Bakun town.

The raiders uprooted a total of 1,160 fully-grown Marijuana plants estimated to be worth P232,000.00 in the streets.

The prohibited plants were uprooted and burned on site after proper documentation.
