President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, along with Republic of Korea (ROK) President Moon Jae-in and fellow Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Leaders, participated in the 2019 ASEAN-ROK Commemorative Summit in Busan, South Korea from November 25-26, 2019.
Celebrating the 30th anniversary of dialogue partnership between the ASEAN and ROK, the Summit served as an avenue for the leaders to assess the development of ASEAN-ROK relations over three (3) decades with the theme, “Partnership for Peace, Prosperity for People.” The theme symbolizes the vision of the partnership that follows a people-centered community of peace and prosperity. Likewise, the meeting presented the shared vision of ASEAN and ROK for the next 30 years.
On the sideline of the Summit, President Duterte, together with some of his Cabinet Secretaries and government officials, convened with South Korean President Moon in a bilateral meeting. The two leaders witnessed the signing and exchange of agreements between the Governments of the Philippines and Republic of Korea. :: press release ::
