Eulalie Arboladura, project coordinator of the AusAID-funded Poverty Reduction through Organic Farming Systems (PROfarmS), is now the new executive director of the Bohol Local Development Foundation (BLDF). She succeeds Dr. Nepomucena Buot, who was elected as Vice President of the Board of Trustees during its regular meeting last May 23.
This was announced by Nestor Pestelos, president, who retired last March as regional program manager for Southeast Asia of the Habitat for Humanity International to assume a full-time role with the Foundation.
Like most trustees and staff of the Foundation, Arboladura has had a long career in development work, starting in 1983 when the UNICEF-assisted Ilaw International Center became operational in Bohol as a resource institution for community development and local-level participatory planning. She worked in the center as field researcher-librarian, administrative officer, and trainer.
Arboladura joined other former Ilaw staff to form BLDF five years ago as partner NGO of the Provincial Government in preparing and implementing the Bohol Program Framework on Poverty Reduction.
Former Tagbilaran City Mayor Jose Ma. Rocha is honorary chairman of the BLDF Board. The other officers of the Board are: Dr. Nepomucena Buot, vice president; Myrna Angalot-Lu, secretary-treasurer; Joy Arac, auditor; and Domiciano Formentera, community relations officer.
