Bohol Sunday Post | Press ReleaseTaking part in the coastal clean-up tradition, members of the different Bohol chapters of Alpha Phi Omega (APO) International Philippines, Incorporated-Service Fraternity and Sorority carried out their share along the shores by the Tagbilaran City Port for two consecutive Saturdays this month.
This is line with APO's principles of services- -being self-actualized for the benefit of the youth and the community.
It was also APO's way of sustaining strength amid the fast-pace changes in life.
Members of Zeta Beta Chapter (University of Bohol) and the petitioning chapters, Holy Name University and Bohol Institute of Technology, conducted the coastal clean-up on August 11 and 18.
The first round of the activity was organized by the Zeta Beta chapter headed by its grand chancellor, Gerson Gamas, while batch 06A and 06B of HNU petitioning chapter headed by Neil John Romero, the project chairman, initiated the second round with the supervision of the Grand Lady Chancellor, Gracia O.
The 30 APO members, mostly residents and alumni, who participated in the clean-up drive were able to gather 25 extra-large waste bags approximately weighing two kilos each.
They usually started the three-hour activity at 5:30 a.m.
