Yellow rainfall warning over Batangas‬, ‪Cavite‬, ‪Laguna‬, ‪Zambales‬ and ‪Bataan -- PAGASA
MANILA, Aug. 5 (PNA) -- Due to continuous rains of the southwest monsoon enhanced by typhoon "Jose", the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued a "yellow" rainfall warning in the provinces of Batangas‬, ‪Cavite‬, ‪Laguna‬, ‪Zambales‬ and ‪Bataan‬ at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Under the heavy rainfall warning system, a yellow rainfall advisory is raised when the expected rainfall amount is between 7.5 mm and 15 mm within one hour and likely to continue.
Communities given this advisory are advised to be aware of the weather condition and warned that flooding may be possible in low-lying areas.
It added light to moderate with occasional heavy rains will affect ‪Metro Manila‬, ‪Rizal‬, ‪Bulacan‬, ‪Pampanga‬ and portion of ‪Nueva Ecija‬.
Residents of the above-mentioned areas to take precautionary measures.
Meanwhile, PAGASA weather forecaster Julie Nines said typhoon Jose maintain its strength and continues to move north northeast.
Nimes said as of 4 p.m. the eye of Typhoon Jose was located based on all available data at 745 km East of Basco, Batanes (20.2ºN, 129.8ºE) packed with maximum sustained winds of 150 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kph.
She added the typhoon continues to move North Northeast at 15 kph.
With its movement, Nimes said the the typhoon is expected to be outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Thursday headed towards Japan.
She added the typhoon is not expected to make landfall and no public storm warning signal has been raise in any part of the country.
However, she said the typhoon continues to enhance the southwest monsoon affecting Luzon and will continue to bring rains over Ilocos Region, Zambales and Bataan which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.
She added Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have occasional rains while Visayas and Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
She added fisherfolks and those with small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over the seaboards of Luzon due to strong gale force wind associated with the surge of southwest monsoon which enhance by typhoon Jose.
In its advisory, PAGASA said moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and coming from the south to southwest over Mindanao.
The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough.(PNA)
