Wachovia Corporation will open a call center in the Philippines early next year to meet increased demand for services.
It will be the Charlotte-based bank's first such venture abroad, a bank spokeswoman confirms.
Wachovia has call centers in 13 U.S. locations, including Charlotte, and has no plans to close any of the domestic sites, she says.
Wachovia (NYSE:WB) is one of the nation's largest diversified financial-services companies, with retail and commercial banking operations in 21 states.
