Quezon City Police District (QCPD) operatives arrested on Thursday Roger Dominguez, one of the suspected leaders of a car theft syndicate in the country.
Chief Superintendent Benjardi Mantele, QCPD director, said Dominguez, brother of Raymond Dominguez, who was earlier charged with car theft with homicide, was apprehended by the QCPD-District Anti-Carnapping Unit (DACU) after he was flagged down for violating traffic rules along Timog Avenue.
Dominguez reportedly tried to pass himself off as a member of the Philippine National Police (PNP), but was recognized by the arresting officer as the man wanted for a series of car thefts in Metro Manila.
Mantele said Dominguez is now under police custody at Camp Karingal in Sikatuna Village, Quezon City.
The Dominguez brothers are allegedly behind the death of car dealer Venson Evangelista, who was abducted and killed last month. They face at least 28 criminal cases in various courts in Bulacan and Pampanga since 2007. (PNA)
