Pinoys Smuggled into Singapore with Fake Air Tickets
« on: November 13, 2007, 01:33:11 AM »
Agence France Presse

Human traffickers have been using fraudulent electronic plane tickets to smuggle Filipinos into Singapore, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Monday.

Over the past two months 15 Filipinos have been jailed for between three and 10 months for using fake return tickets, it said in a statement.

Filipino tourists who travel abroad are required to purchase return tickets to discourage illegal immigration.

Human traffickers entice their victims with the offer of a return e-ticket -- sometimes faked with the help with travel agencies, the department said.

The victims are then compelled by the traffickers to repay spurious debts of up to $6,000, it added.

At least one million Filipinos leave the country every year to find better-paying jobs abroad.

I had though about it as i posted it? So what if i did ask and I would like to have the reference of the paper so I can say what paper it is coming from as i might make it an opinion in my column.

I just like to have my readers know how i get my sources and where they come from.

thanks for the reminder grazie
