A lawmaker on Thursday called for the regulation of
nursing review centers in the country. In a statement, Nueva Vizcaya Representative Carlos Padilla said that there was no agency tasked to
monitor and regulate the activities of nursing review centers after the Supreme Court declared Executive Order 566 and Commission on Higher
Education (CHEd) Memorandum Order 30 to be unconstitutional.
“There is no government entity which regulates nursing review centers and enforces precautionary measures that will stem the rampant abuses or violations of these nursing review centers,†the Nueva Vizcaya representative said.
Executive Order No. 566 directed CHEd to
monitor the operations of nursing review centers while CHEd’s Memorandum Order 30 revised the rules and regulations on the establishment and operation of such
centers.
