Philippine Government to Reopen Vizconde Case
« on: December 16, 2010, 09:36:54 AM »
Malacanang supported the plan of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to conduct a reinvestigation on the Vizconde massacre case.

The PNP announced the proposal following the decision of the Supreme Court to free the accused, Hubert Webb and six others, on the controversial case.

Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said it is the duty of the state to find the real perpetrators of the crime.

Although the case has gone cold, she said authorities should not be discouraged of finding the suspects of the gruesome killings.

If the case will be reopened, Valte however pointed out that it cannot anymore tag Webb because it would entail double jeopardy.

Voting 7-4-4, the high court cleared Webb and his group for the killings of Estrellita Vizconde and her two daughters in their Paranaque home in 1991.(Jill Beltran/Sunnex)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
