The Philippine delegation to this year's Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) in Thailand will include not only athletes, coaches, training staff and officials but cooks as well, local media reported on Sunday.

The Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) is making sure that the national athletes do not complain about the food they will eat when they compete in the 24th SEAG with concrete plans to hire culinary experts who will prepare native dishes, Manila Bulletin daily reported.

"I am seriously thinking of bringing along a cook to Thailand because not all of our athletes may like the spicy Thai food that will be served there," said POC President Jose Cojuangco.

"Even when I dine at restaurants there, I don't like the taste of some of the dishes," said Cojuangco, whose plan to bring cooks to Thailand already has the blessings of the Thai organizers.

"I was given an assurance that there'll be no problem if we decide to bring our own cook," said Cojuangco.

Thai cuisine is international. Pinoy athletes shouldn't miss the rare opportunity to taste Thai ala carte. I've friends around the world who visit Thai restos just to taste 'Tum Yum' or 'Som Tam' and pay like 100 USD only for this. How much is that in peso? (And to think, it's only like 20 pesos per serving in Thailand.) Yes, they pay that much only for the cravings of Thai food. Aroy mac (very tasty), I swear.

*** However, nothing also beats the taste of Pinoy food. So to the Phil team, if its kamunggay nga sabaw that can make you win, go ahead, Mr. Cojuangco!

Walay spelling spelling oi kay Thai biya sila. There's no exact counterpart in English spelling. Hehehehe! Basta kay lami ang Thai food. Phad Thai man tingale kay mahilig sila ug "ph" but pronounced as aspirated "p" and not "f." (Gee, I could read and write Thai biya. hehehe!)
