Pacquiao Joins DILG in BIDA Program Rollout
Former Senator Manny Pacquiao joined the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Atty. Benjamin Abalos, Jr. in the government's efforts to promote a drug-free and safe community through the Buhay Ingatan, Droga'y Ayawan (BIDA) program.
Pacquiao, who is a BIDA Ambassador, said that he is one with Sarangani Governor Ruel Pacquiao and Gensan Mayor Lorelei Pacquiao in supporting the campaign of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. against illegal drugs.
"It is my honor to join the DILG in this important initiative. We must all work together to create a drug-free and safe community for our children and grandchildren," said Pacquiao.
The BIDA program is a whole-of-nation approach to address the illegal drug menace. It involves the collaboration of different government agencies, civil society organizations, and the private sector.
The BIDA rollout in Sarangani Province was attended by 8,000 partners from all over Sarangani and General Santos City. The event included a fun run, a mural painting contest, and a pledge of stakeholder support.
"Let us work together towards healthier and happier communities. Let us be BIDA champions in our own way and inspire others to do the same," said Pacquiao.
The BIDA program is a significant step in the government's fight against illegal drugs. With the support of individuals like Manny Pacquiao, the program has the potential to make a real difference in the lives of people all over the country.
Here are some additional details:
The BIDA program was launched in 2022 by President Marcos, Jr.

The BIDA program has been implemented in over 100 provinces and cities across the Philippines.
