The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued an "Orange Rainfall" advisory at 6:10 p.m. Sunday in Metro Manila, warning residents of "heavy to intense rainfall in the next two to three hours."
PAGASA said the advisory covers Manila, Pasay, San Juan, Mandaluyong, Makati, Taguig, Pateros, Marikina and the southern portion of Quezon city as it noted "moderate to heavy rainfall over Quezon City, Pasig City and Manila in the last two hours."
The "Orange Rainfall" advisory is raised in areas where rainfall is between 15 millimeters and 30 mm within one hour. Flooding is a definite threat in communities under the "Orange" alert.
PAGASA said that heavy to intense rainfall was observed over Manila, Pasay, Taguig, Pasig and Marikina for the past two hours and most likely to continue for the next two to three hours. Flooding is threatening in low-lying areas.
Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rainfall was observed over the rest of Metro Manila.
