OFW’s Can Now Send Burgers To Families
« on: August 28, 2008, 03:57:18 AM »

Jollibee meals can now be delivered to your doorstep in the Philippines as a gift from your tatay, nanay, ate or kuya from Hong Kong, Dubai, Rome, Paris, London, Singapore, California or Sydney.

That’s the concept of virtual pasalubong: Jollibee Yum, Champ, palabok fiesta and peach mango pie delivered to you even if she’s a thousand miles away.

While it is customary for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), Fil-Ams and other Filipinos abroad to send money, they can now surprise their loved ones back home with their favorite Jollibee meals during special occasions with the collaboration of Banco de Oro (BDO) and fastfood giant Jollibee Foods Corp.

Sharing the vision of preserving the spirit of family togetherness, BDO and Jollibee launched Jollibee Padalang Langhap Sarap, the first remittance product of its kind, which will be made available initially to Filipinos in Metro Manila and greater Manila.

OFWs can now go to any BDO subsidiary office and international remittance partners in Europe, Asia, Middle East, United States and Canada, and choose from a variety of meal and party packages to be delivered to their families and relatives in the Philippines.

BDO and Jollibee aims to preserve strong ties between Filipinos and their families in the Philippines along with the bank’s commitment to deliver fast remittances.

“As BDO recognizes the hard work and sacrifices of our unsung heroes, it also aims to break the barrier of distance by preserving family tradition,” BDO said.

About eight million Filipinos are now working abroad based on the latest data from the Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA).

We, the unwilling, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, for so long, with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing.
