Joint Military and Police Operation in Cagayan Uncovers 38 IEDs, Marks Decline in Support for Terrorist Group


A joint operation by the 95th Infantry Battalion, Gonzaga Police Station, and the 203rd Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 2 led to the recovery of explosive devices in Sitio Tagkar, Barangay Isca, Gonzaga, Cagayan on December 18, 2024.


The team, led by Lieutenant Colonel Vladimir P. Gracilla, Police Captain Danilo Belnas, and Police Lieutenant Jan Andrei Nicolas, seized 38 improvised explosive devices (IEDs), four improvised blasting machines, five remote controllers, and five meters of Stranded Wire. The items were turned over to the police for proper disposal.


This operation highlights the crucial role of local citizens in providing information and signals a decrease in support for the communist terrorist group in the region.
