Many Filipinos across the nation were glued on their television sets, listened on radio and monitored on the internet the proceedings of President Benigno Aquino III and Vice President Jejomar BInay’s inaugural day activities.

Internet cafés along Visayas Avenue in Barangay VASRA and in neighborhoods in Novaliches, Quezon City were full of young people watching President Aquino on his inaugural day.

Houses in middle classes neighborhoods in Tondo, Manila reverberated with radio reports on the blow-by-blow account of President Aquino and Vice President Binay’s inaugural day events.

Television sets in many homes Tarlac Province watched their compatriot President Aquino who was very energetic.

In Makati City, Binay’s townmates cheered as the newly-elected Vice President took his oath of office.

Students were also impressed with the sea of humanity and a highly emotional opening rites ushered in the formal inaugural of President Aquino, the 15th President of the Republic, at the Luneta Park in Manila.

“Everything happened as planned. The inauguration marked another milestone for the Republic of the Philippines,” said Annie Verlyn Asuncion of New Era University (NEU) in Quezon City.

Asuncion noted, as part President Aquino’s promises, he followed the traffic rules upon his way to the Quirino Grandstand.

Glyza Perez of NEU said the Philippines witnessed another historical event, as the newly elect President Aquino took his oath at the Quirino Grandstand.

“P-Noy is the first Bachelor President at the age of 50,” Perez said as she noted the many yellow-clad supporters of President Aquino turned up at the Luneta Park.
