4.9 magnitude quake jolts Isabela

MANILA, Philippines -- A 4.9 magnitude earthquake shook the province of Isabela Friday but there were no immediate reports of damage or injury.
The quake struck at 1:13 p.m. at a depth of 33.8 kilometers, 70 kilometers from the northern city of Ilagan, the US Geological Survey said.
The Philippines sits on the Pacific Ring of Fire, where continental plates collide and cause frequent seismic and volcanic activity.
