The
temperature in Metro Manila sets another record as it sizzles at 36.6 degrees Celsius on Monday, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Administration (PAGASA) said.
According to Jori Loiz, weather forecaster, the maximum temperature recorded at the Science Garden in Quezon City was 36.6 degrees Celsius at 2 p.m. Monday, hottest so far recorded in the metropolis.
PAGASA said it was on its seventh consecutive days that Metro Manila continued to exceed the 36 degrees Celsius.
Metro Manila recorded 36.4 last Friday then 36.1 on Saturday and 36.3 on Sunday.
Elsewhere in Luzon, the highest temperature recorded as of 2 p.m. on Monday was 37 degrees Celsius in Tuguegarao City in Cagayan. This compared with 36.5 degrees Celsius in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija; 36.6 in Dagupan City, Pangasinan; 34.4 in Clark, Pampanga; and 33 in Subic, Zambales.
In the Visayas, Mactan in Cebu recorded 28.7 degrees Celsius, while General Santos City in Mindanao was at 31 degrees Celsius.
