Manila, Philippines - The Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD) on Wednesday tested positive for toxic industrial chemical melamine a biscuit made in China as it cleared 34 other Chinese milk products.

Tested with melamine is Lotte Strawberry Snack Koala Biscuit.

The biscuit is the fourth Chinese milk and milk products tested to contain traces of melamine since the BFAD started random testing of these products following melamine contamination deaths and sickness in China.

The Chinese dairy products earlier tested with melamine were Yili Fresh Milk, Mengniu Drink, and Jolly Cow slender High Calciu, Low Fat Milk.

The fourth batch of products cleared by BFAD as negative for melamine are Arla Instant White Milk Powder Milex 126, Baby Sucker Candy (Smart Plastic Mfg.), Baina Watch Milk Candy, Bainapie Coolmilk Bean, Barbie Milk Candy, Call and Text Candy (Smart Plastic Mfg.), Chang's Chin Tai Chang Square Cookies, Changtai Food Lollipop Candy, Chaozhou-Zhancui Original Butter Scoth Classic Candy, Cow's Head Skimmed Milk Powder (Spray dried process), Dairy Cow Instant Whole Milk Powder,

the only way to avoid ingesting melamine is to avoid chinese-made food products altogether. having said this, i am beginning to wonder that there may be other harmful ingredients that the chinese have mixed in their processed foods that have not been discovered yet because we are so focused on testing chinese-made food products solely for its melamine content.
