Massacre in Maguindanao, Philippines
« on: November 23, 2009, 10:09:30 PM »
The wife of a candidate for governor and about 30 others were abducted Monday morning in the southern Philippines -- with at least 21 of them later killed, army officials said.

The woman was on her way to file her husband's nomination papers, when some 100 armed men abducted her and the others in Maguindanao province, said the candidate, Ibrahim Mangudadatu.

Army Lt. Col. Romeo Brawner said soldiers later recovered 21 bodies -- 13 women and eight men -- from the area where the abduction occurred.

Presidential Adviser on Mindanao Affairs Jesus Dureza has asked the government to place Maguindanao province under a state of emergency.

"This is a gruesome massacre of civilians unequaled in recent history. Even women and media men were not spared. There must be a total stop to this senseless violence," Dureza said told reporters.

Mangudadatu blamed the abduction on the person he is challenging for the governorship of Maguindanao: incumbent Andal Ampatuan, who has held control of the area for the past decade.

The two are competing in elections that will be held on May 10.

The governor could not be reached for comment.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

37 journalists who were just there to cover the filing of a certificate of candidacy were slaughtered. It's the biggest mass slaughter of journalists in world history, according to Paris-based Reporters without Borders.

Though I have been very busy this past few days, nagsunod ko aning balitaa.

Kini sigurong nagbuhat ani wa nay kahadlok kay arang ka daghan nga gipatay wa na maghuna-huna kung unsay resulta. If I were to kill someone, ang aho jud huna hunaon sa nga unsaon naho pagtago nga dili mahibaw-an nga akoy nagpatay pero kini lahi ni nga case. Either total craziness sa tawo maoy nagdrive ani nga act or gusto nija manghadlok sa ubang tawo.

May mabdos man pud ra ba kono nga akip ani. The plan was for the COC to be filed ny women and journalists. Women because according to Islam tradition women should be respected just like a child or elders. Journalists kay to think journalists are there mahadlok jud ang perpetrators nga manghilabot pero no effect gihapon ang tanan.

Mao ni resulta sa sobrang kalinta sa tawo sa gahom ug sapi. Buhaton ang tanan aron makapadajon ug huthut sa panudlanan sa mga Pilipinhon.

Siguro the root of this all dili ang family feud kondili ang corruption.
