The Philippine National Police (PNP) yesterday announced that there were decreased in carnapping cases in the country for the past eight months of this year.

The PNP-Highway Patrol Group (HPG) carnapping statistics showed that for the year 2010, a total of 612 cases of carjacking and car theft were recorded over an eight-month period from January to August.

Vehicles lost to carnappers include 334 motorcycles or 55 percent of the total number of stolen vehicles during the period.

Chief Supt. Leonardo Espina, HPG director in his report to PNP Chief Director General Raul Bacalzo said that 612 cases of carnapping recorded in January to August this year was 32 percent lower than the 911 carnapping cases reported during the same eight-month period in 2009.

Espina said the efforts of HPG to reverse the trend of carnapping and car theft cases involve proactive and preventive measures, including aggressive interdiction operations against carnapping syndicates.

The strategy resulted in the neutralization of at least 13 organized crime groups engaged in carnapping, more notorious among them were the Eduardo Bonifacio Group; the Ogie Dominguez Group; the Edwin Madrigal Group; and Charlie Lim and Boyet, ringleaders of the syndicate, were selling stolen cars in Northern Mindanao.

Anti-hijacking and anti-highway robbery operations by HPG during this year resulted in the neutralization of four hijacking gangs, including the dreaded Ching Gaza Group responsible for the hijacking of millions worth of assorted goods in Metro Manila and Luzon provinces.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
