MANILA, Philippines -- A 35-year-old taxi driver stabbed dead late Wednesday afternoon a fellow driver whom he allegedly caught in the act of having sex with his wife inside their own home in Quezon City.
Leonardo Villamil, a resident of the village of Pagasa, in North Triangle, immediately surrendered to the Quezon City Police District Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU) and confessed to killing Rodolfo Almandres Jr., 39, of Antipolo City.
Police Officer 2 Gregorio Maramag Jr. of the QCPD-CIDU said that the incident happened at around 4 p.m. Wednesday inside the suspect's house.
Maramag said that before the incident, Villamil arrived from work and was sleeping inside his bedroom when he heard his wife entertaining a visitor in the living room.
Villamil claimed he peeked into the living room to see who the visitor was and saw Almandres and his wife kissing, Maramag said. He then pretended to be asleep when his wife broke away from Almandres, reportedly to check if he was deep in slumber.
Several minutes later, Villamil heard the sounds of lovemaking from the living room and when he peered from behind the door, he discovered his naked wife having sex with Almandres.
Enraged by the scene, Villamil ran to the kitchen to get a knife and stabbed Almandres in the chest. The wife brought the victim to the East Avenue Medical Center, where Almandres was declared dead on arrival.
Villamil is in the custody of the QCPD-CIDU pending the filing of a homicide charge against him.(Philippine Daily Inquirer)
