The
Philippine Army's 3rd Infantry Division urged New People's Army (NPA) fighters based in Jamindan, Capiz to return to the fold of the law and reunite with their families this Lenten Season so that peace and healing will finally come to their respective communities.
Major Enrico Gil Ileto, 3rd Infantry Division spokesperson, said this will also serve as their chance to spend a "week of peace, freedom and tranquility in our democratic country" particularly in this region.
"In the spirit of peace, we call on them (NPAs) to stop deliberate offensive operations against the people," he stressed.
As this developed, Ileto stated that the 3rd Infantry Division will continue to secure and protect the public, maintain its vigilance and intensify further its security operations in various parts of the
country.
He added that PA units in this region will not raise their alert
status.
Ileto said commanders on the ground are continuously conducting assessment of the security conditions in their respective localities and can make the necessary security adjustments to ensure that the week-long commemoration is safe and secure for the people.
