MANILA - Outgoing Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner Kim S. Jacinto-Henares on Wednesday ended her six-year term with the filing of the last batch of cases before the Department of Justice (DOJ) against 11 respondents for their failure to pay the right amount of taxes to the government.

Among those charged by the BIR was the Planters Development Bank (PDB) and its senior vice president Jose Acetre for failure to pay the tax in 2014 amounting to PHP959,581.35.

Likewise, charged was the Trade Technique Enterprises Inc. and its officer-in-charge Liza Olario for the tax liability amounting to PHP115.77 million for taxable year 2012.

The BIR also filed a tax evasion case against former Carmen, Bohol Mayor Conchita Toribio Delos Reyes after she failed to pay the amount of PHP15.73 million for taxable years 2011 and 2012.

Delos Reyes is the founder of the Beauche International, a beauty soap company.

Meanwhile, Henares expressed her gratitude to all people who have been cooperating with the BIR in running after the tax evaders and for helping in collecting the correct taxes for the government coffers. (PNA)

Romans 10:9-10
"If you declare with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."
