DIGOS CITY, Philippines—The German chief engineer of a ship docked at the Malalag Port in Malalag, Davao del Sur, has been found dead aboard the vessel, police said Saturday.
Senior Superintendent Ronald Dela Rosa, provincial police chief, identified the German national as
Hans Ulrich Schulz, 54, chief engineer of MV Hanjin Palermo, one of the cargo ships berthed at the port since last month.
He said there was no indication of foul play and that an autopsy showed Schulz died from cardiac arrest.
His body was taken to a local funeral parlor, Dela Rosa said.
