The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) expect a good weather on Tuesday as typhoon “Butchoy†continues to move out of the country.
Weather forecaster Gladys Saludes said that "
Butchoy" (international name Gucol) was located some 700 km Northeast of Basco Batanes (24.3°N, 128.3°E) with maximum winds of 150 kph near the center and gustiness up to 185 kph.
"Butchoy was expected to exit Philippine territory by Monday night towards Japan and its movement forecast is north northeast at 30 kph, humina si Butchoy, pero bumilis ang movement niya palabas ng bansa,†Saludes said.
Saludes said that Metro Manila as well as Visayas and Mindanao would have a good weather on Tuesday but southwest monsoon would still affect other parts of Luzon, particularly in Northern and Central Luzon.
“Bukas maganda na weather natin dito sa Metro Manila maging sa Visayas at Mindanao pero makakaranas lang tayo ng isolated rain showers,†she said.
"Butchoy" had enhanced the southwest monsoon and brought heavy rains to parts of Luzon and Mindanao.
As "Butchoy" exits the Philippines, PAGASA sees the entry of another potential typhoon --tropical storm (international codename: "Talim")-- on Wednesday afternoon.
Based on satellite and surface data, tropical storm "Talim" was estimated to be at 800 km west of Extreme Northern Luzon (19.0°N, 112.4°E) with maximum sustained winds of 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph. It is forecast to move northeast slowly.
Once "Talim" enters Philippine territory, it will be locally codenamed "Carina," the third cyclone in the Philippine area of responsibility so far this year.
