Go Green
« on: January 02, 2011, 09:25:21 AM »
Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Ramon J.P. Paje has urged the public to "go green” in celebrating Christmas.

According to Paje, besides Christmas and money, the color green should also be equated with “the color of the environment, which is one thing that Filipinos should also think of in this time of celebrations.”

“This is the season when tons of garbage are produced after all the parties and gift-giving,” Paje said.
“We enjoin each Filipino to be responsible enough, especially in disposing their trash, so as not to wreak further havoc to our already degraded environment,” he noted.

For gift-giving, Paje suggests reusing Christmas wrappers or recycled paper and reusable bags or “bayong” to put gifts in. He also recommends giving live plants as gifts, and patronizing products of companies or organizations known to implement green practices.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
