GenSan extends operating hours of one-stop-shop for biz permits
GENERAL SANTOS CITY, Jan. 12 (PNA) -- In a bid to accommodate more clients, the city government has extended the operating hours of its one-stop-shop for the ongoing annual renewal of business permits and registration of new businesses.
Geraldine Zamora, chief of the City Permits and Licensing Division (CPLD), said Thursday they stretched their daily processing schedule by an additional four hours to cope with the increasing number of applications.
She said all offices involved in the processing of business permits are now open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday to Friday, and with no noon break.
The one-stop-shop, which is situated at the local government’s Investment Building, will also be open on Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., she said.
For the scheduled deadline on Jan. 20, Zamora said they will accept applications until 12 midnight.
“This is to ensure that all involved offices and units will be able to meet the needs of the applicants,†she told reporters.
The city government targets 9,000 to 10,000 applications for the renewal of business permits and registration of new businesses.
It aims to generate around PHP200 million in business taxes from local micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) within the operating schedule of the one-stop-shop.
The City Treasurer’s Office and the CPLD opened the filing of application late last month and around 1,000 MSMEs have responded.
Zamora said they continue to monitor the ongoing processing activities to ensure that they would move faster.
“We we’re ordered to make the processing faster and easier for our clients,†she said.
She added that they ensure that all desks of the involved offices and units are properly manned during the operating hours of the one-shop-shop.(PNA)
