The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) of Santiago city conducted a capability training to selected firefighter-volunteers.

Claro Comoda, City Disaster Risk Reduction Management officer, said the city government has allowed to accept firefighter volunteers in the city to help Rescue 206 and the BFP to immediately respond to fire incidents to lessen damages on lives and properties.

Comoda admitted that the Rescue 206 and BFP only has limited personnel to effectively carry out its mandate to serve and protect the needy constituents particularly on fire incidents.

“I salute firefighter volunteers who willingly offered themselves to serve as firefighters in the city,” Comoda said.

Firefighter volunteers were taught the basics in firefighting from laying out water hose to firefighting using the fire trucks and its equipment.

Comoda said the acceptance of firefighting volunteers is first of its kind in the city as the need to increase manpower is needed due to the limited manpower of the BFP and Rescue 206.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
