A ranking Catholic prelate has urged
Filipinos not to believe in predictions for the new year but instead trust in "divine providence" in running their lives.
Jaro Archbishop Angel Lagdameo said the faithful should not let feng shui and Chinese horoscopes rule their way of life.
“I think it’s a Chinese custom to put several years under some kind of protection or patronship of some animals kaya nga sinasabi nila na year of the dragon pero sa ating mga Katoliko, it’s year of the Lord," Lagdameo said.
" Sa ating mga Katoliko e wala naman tayong pinagkakatiwalaan para sa ating buhay kundi ang Diyos mismo. He is more powerful than any of those involved animals," he added. - PNA
