Filipino Travelers Stranded in Bangkok Airports
« on: November 28, 2008, 03:45:07 AM »
A total 144 Filipinos stranded since Tuesday in Bangkok after their flights out of the new Suvarabhami and old Don Muang international airports were arbitrarily canceled have been assisted by the Philippine embassy in Bangkok.

They are now safe and currently billeted at various hotels, according to reports from Bangkok to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

Both airports were closed after the facilities were surrounded and attacked by anti-government protesters.

The DFA did not indicate who the Filipinos were and why they were in Bangkok, which is in the eye of the protests. - PNA
