Filipino Couple Torture Animals for a Fee Now Wanted
« on: July 27, 2011, 06:32:01 AM »
by AFP

A Philippine couple have been charged for making dozens of videos showing teenage girls torturing and killing animals, an animal rights group said Tuesday.

The videos were sold via secretive Internet chat groups to people overseas who wanted to watch the footage for thrills, said Rochelle Regodon, Asia campaign manager for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

“The videos just tear your heart out. This disgustingly cruel enterprise must be stopped,” Regodon said at a news conference where some of the clips were screened.

In the videos, girls wearing mini-skirts and high heels cut the ears off rabbits with scissors before being setting them on fire, burned a dog with a clothes iron and stood on puppies.

After PETA reported the crimes to authorities, police charged a husband and wife in the northern Philippines with animal cruelty, child abuse and human trafficking.

But the couple fled before being arrested, and PETA said Tuesday it was offering a reward of P100,000 ($2,300) for information leading to their capture.

Regodon said clients overseas could look at excerpts of the so-called “crush” videos online, then order the full-length clips by sending a money transfer to the Philippine couple.

Prices ranged from $80 for one video to $200 for three clips, according to Regodon.

She said the operation, which was believed to have existed for two years, was uncovered after someone in Russia contacted PETA with information about the videos.

The Russian informant, who had infiltrated the chat groups where “crush video” fans gathered online, posed as a genuine customer, according to Regodon.

The informant gained access to 68 short videos and enough information to help trace the organizers to the northern Philippine province of La Union.

Six girls aged between 12 and 18 had been coerced into the cruel acts after initially being lured to the couple’s home to work as babysitters, PETA said.

While this was the first “crush” video case in the Philippines, there have been many cases in recent years of police raiding operations in which girls and women perform sex acts in front of cameras for overseas Internet clients.

Oi, naa man diay tuod ni...

A crush fetish is a desire to see small insects or animals crushed to death. Inanimate objects, such as cigarettes, fruit or toy cars, can also be crush fetish stimuli. The legality of crush erotica and the actual practice of crushing varies by region. There are currently no known laws forbidding the crushing of objects and insects, however the production or trade of crush erotica involving live vertebrates is condemned by animal rights activists and is illegal in many countries including the United States and Great Britain. -- http://listverse.com/2007/09/24/top-10-bizarre-fetishes/

I never thought this kind of racket exists. Maayo nalang dili Pinoy ang mopalit sa video, kon dili foreign. Dili pa ing-ani ka weird ang mga Pinoy. But just the same, ang couple nga nagbaligya mga heartless na ni sila.

A crush fetish is a paraphilia in which one is sexually aroused when usually someone of the attractive sex crushes objects, food and sometimes small animals or insects with/under their foot. The term soft crush, the more common fetish: refers to videos involving small animals being crushed, usually invertebrates (e.g. insects, worms, spiders) while the term hard crush which has drawn more attention: refers to such videos involving larger animals, and arguably more pain-susceptible animals (e.g. reptiles, birds, mammals). The preference could be barefoot, high-heels, flip flops, converse and so on, depending on the fetishist. --Wiki

today, 28 july 2011, i came across an internet article in the philippine daily inquirer about the offer of a hundred thousand pesos by PETA for information on the whereabouts of this perverted couple.  i don't have the strength to post that article here.  it shows a dead dog, presumably after having been tortured to death.  i couldn't even finish reading that article because i can no longer read the letters with the sting in my eyes.

aahh, tears.  you ease one's sorrow but your wellspring is for an eternity.  let me mourn for some humans who don't deserve to share the earth with animals.

because there are just some things that i simply refuse to believe or to admit as real, i guess i will open this thread again only when that couple is caught.

until they are caught, wherever they are now, i am sending to them my favorite irish curses:

Let the cat eat them and the devil eat the cat.

May they have neither meat nor soup.

May the lamb of God stir his hoof through the roof of heaven and kick them in the arse down to hell.

May they be eaten by an awful itch!

May all the goats in Gorey chase them to hell.

May they find the bees but miss the honey!

May the curse of Mary Malone and her nine blind illegitimate children chase them so far over the Hills of Damnation that the Lord himself can't find them with a telescope.

a hopeful update...

Couple in 'crush' video industry to face court

By Dennis Carcamo
August 04, 2011

MANILA, Philippines - The couple nabbed for making "crush" videos by authorities are expected to face trial for the offense within the year, according to the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

Dorma Ridon and his husband Vicente have already been charged with violations of the Anti-Child Abuse Law and the Animal Welfare Act after they were arrested by the police and agents from the National Bureau of Investigation in Burgos, La Union on Tuesday.

The Ridons were reportedly producing a series of "crush" videos in which scantily clad young girls torture animals to death, according to PETA, which conducted a year-long probe along with the NBI.

The couple has posted bail.

"The vicious disregard for the animal suffering shown in these sadistic videos must be severely punished.  This is a warning to anyone who would commit cruelty-to-animals crimes.

The public takes it seriously and will do all it can to see justice served," PETA Asia's campaign manager Rochelle Regodon said.

"Crush" videos depict extreme cruelty to animals, subjecting them to torture such as setting them on fire or hitting them with sharp objects.

Couple in 'crush videos' showing animal cruelty jailed

July 06, 2012

MANILA, Philippines - A couple accused of making graphic videos of animals that are being tortured and crushed are now languishing in a jail in La Union, the international animal welfare advocacy group PETA said on Friday.

PETA said Vicente Ridon and his wife Dorma are now detained after additional charges were filed before the police.

The Ridons were arrested after the National Bureau of Investigation concluded its year-long investigation of the case, PETA added.

The Ridons are currently on trial for crimes related to the production of a series of "crush" videos in which scantily clad young girls engaged in the torture and killing of animals.

The couple was initially charged with cruelty to animals and child abuse because the girls were minors when the videos were filmed. The Department of Justice has since added violations of the Wildlife Protection and Conservation Act (RA No. 9147) and the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act (RA No. 9208) as well as additional child abuse violations to the charges, the group added.

PETA said the Ridons' case also prompted a senator to submit a resolution to conduct an inquiry on crush videos and a member of Congress to file a bill that would prohibit selling, exchanging, or distributing crush videos in the Philippines and overseas.

"Manila is 'ground zero' in the international war against the vile crush-video industry. The Philippines has an opportunity to slam the door on animal abuse by holding the Ridons accountable for the horrific pain and misery that they have caused," said Jason Baker, PETA Asia vice president. - Dennis Carcamo
