E-Power Mo Campaign Promotes Smarter Energy Use in the Visayas
« on: September 07, 2017, 05:58:12 PM »
(Cebu City). The Department of Energy (DOE) today urged consumers in the Visayas to be wiser and more intelligent users of energy resources as the agency kicked off its E-Power Mo Visayas campaign on Thursday at the Energy Investment Forum and Stakeholders Conference in Marco Polo Hotel, Cebu City.

“The 'E-Power Mo' is the Department of Energy’s campaign to empower and educate consumers of their options for a wiser and more intelligent utilization of energy resources,” Energy Secretary Alfonso G. Cusi said in his keynote speech delivered by DOE Undersecretary Felix William Fuentebella during the opening of the conference.

“To better explain energy to the consumers, we have developed energy tag lines to simplify the energy programs for the consuming Filipino... Hence, we coined the over-arching terms: E-POWER MO👊, E-SAFETY MO👊, E-SECURE MO👊 and E-DISKARTE MO,” Cusi said.

The DOE also ensures the facilitation of projects to develop indigenous energy resources to support local economic activity, which will enable the country and the people to become globally competitive, according to Cusi.

“Under the Duterte Administration, real changes will be implemented to heed the call for government to accelerate poverty reduction, speed up infrastructure projects, create more employment opportunities and improve government services in order to ensure that economic growth is actually felt by all Filipinos,” he said.

DOE-Visayas Field Office Dir. Antonio Labios is leading the E-Power Mo Visayas campaign.

“Aside from formulating energy policies and implementing various projects and activities, we at the Department of Energy are now intensifying our information dissemination drive to share our programs and activities in a holistic manner,” Labios said.

The campaign is in support of the direction of the current administration to interact more closely with all stakeholders and partners in propelling energy development to ensure sustainable, stable, secure, sufficient, accessible and affordable supply of power, said Labios.

The conference is a collaboration among the DOE, Philippine Information Agency, USAID B-LEADERS Program and the Presidential Communications Operations Office.

The meeting provided the participants more detailed presentations on the energy programs, investment opportunities and power related development plans in the country.

Breakout sessions were held during the conference to apprise participants on current and relevant energy topics, including oil, power, resource development, energy efficiency and consumer rights, among others.

The event was attended by around 600 individuals coming from energy companies involved in power, renewable energy, coal, petroleum, natural gas, alternative vehicles and energy efficiency industries, as well as partners from national government agencies, energy associations and students, among others.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
