The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) announced on Thursday it has launched a “one stop shop†which helps cooperatives of agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) boost their businesses by helping them gain access to much-needed funds.
DAR Secretary Virgilio delos Reyes said the program will enable ARBs secure vital business and license permits from concerned government agencies.
Delos Reyes said the DAR-Bureau of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries’ Development (BARBD) launched the “enhancement of village level processing center†to make it more convenient for farmers’ cooperatives to venture into businesses of their own choice.
He said the center also seeks to provide farmers with adequate and timely interventions through livelihood seminars/workshop aimed at developing their business acumen.
It also helps them in acquiring proper equipment and in establishing processing centers, which are pre-requisites for securing business and license permits. (PNA)
