The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has recorded a total of P383.7 million damage in infrastructure in the Visayas and Mindanao brought about by heavy rains.
The DPWH Bureau of Maintenance' latest report said the most affected province is Agusan del Sur with a total of P96 million damage to national roads and bridges.
Among the impassable road sections in the province are in Barangay Sto. Niño, Berseba and Bayugan along Bayugan-Calaitan-Tandag Road, Brgy. Anibongan, Prosperidad, Brgy. Los Arcos and Sitio Magsaysay along Awa-Azpetia-Lianga Road.
In Agusan del Norte, the Kabalalahan Section along Buenavista-Bunaguit Road and Brgy. Dankias along Butuan City-Malaybalay Road in Butuan City are also impassable due to flooded road sections.
In Surigao del Sur, the Tago-San Miguel bridge along Gamut-San Miguel Road is closed to traffic because of collapsed slope protection structure and scoured bridge foundation.
Along the Surigao-Davao Coastal Road, the Sampinit-Unaban-Pocto Section and Badjang Bailey Bridge is closed to traffic because of flooded road section.
In Eastern Visayas, the following road sections along Pangpang-Palapag-Mapanas-Gamay-Lapinig Road in Northern Samar are hardly passable due to rock slides and washed out road surface: Nipa-Mapanas, Panhagdaan, Sitio Malabago, Nipa, Palapag, Pampang and Lapinig.
In Leyte, the Tebangco-Catmon-Manlawaan-Gimarco Road and Cabungaan-Tabunok-Consuegra Road are also hardly passable due to rutted road surface.
Meanwhile, in the Cordillera Administration Region, the Tiiwan Section along Banaue-Hugduan-Benguet Boundary Road is still closed to traffic because of landslides.
The respective DPWH regional and district offices have already deployed emergency crews and equipment to conduct repair works and slide-clearing operations.
