CSC opens 'Government Express at the Mall' in Iloilo
« on: May 04, 2020, 08:50:42 PM »
ILOILO CITY -- Various government offices with frontline services have gathered in one venue as part of the ‘Government Express at the Mall’ facilitated by the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

“Of course, aside from the opportunity to transact business, this is declaring to all that we have a government that would attend to their needs,” said CSC Director IV Rodolfo Encajonado during Wednesday afternoon’s interview after the opening of the Government Express at the Mall and Anti-Red Tape Act (ARTA) exhibit at the SM City here.

Encajonado said that participants are agencies that usually have long queue of people doing transactions and those that are most complained of.

Meanwhile, he said the delivery of government services has improved a lot since the implementation of the ARTA while the way people view government service has also changed.

He cited for instance the Social Security System (SSS), which has migrated into a bigger location and even made available services in the mall.  Before it used to have a small office and the queue of transacting public is long.

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) did not only improve its services but also its office and facilities. “It redounded to the benefit of the officials and employees as well,” he added.

The challenge now is how to meet the “increased expectation” of the public, he said.

“They now know their rights so they claim for their rights and therefore agencies have also to improve not only their service but also their facilities,” he added.

The government express at the mall and ARTA exhibit is part of the activities in line with the founding anniversary of the CSC.
