CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga -- Classes in some parts of Central Luzon were suspended on Tuesday as tropical depression "Maring" intensified and continues to move towards Quezon-Aurora area.


Governor Albert Garcia declared the suspension of classes in all levels, both in public and private schools, in the entire province of Bataan.


Governor Cherry Umali, likewise declared the suspension of classes, both in public and private schools in Nueva Ecija.


Governor Susan Yap also declared the suspension of classes, both in public and private schools in Tarlac.


Bataan, Nueva Ecija and Tarlac are three of the six provinces in Central Luzon that are under tropical cyclone signal no. 1.

Other provinces were Bulacan, Pampanga, Zambales and Aurora. Localized suspension of classes, on the other hand, were declared in Bulacan, Aurora, and Pampanga.


In Bulacan, classes in all levels both in public and private schools were suspended in the cities of Meycauayan, Malolos and San Jose Del Monte and the municipalities of Marilao, Obando, Bocaue, Hagonoy, Angat, Pulilan, San Ildefonso, Calumpit and Norzagaray.


Classes from pre-elementary to high school levels, both in public and private, were suspended in the towns of Bustos and Paombong.


Classes up to elementary level, both in public and private, were suspended in the municipalities of Sta. Maria, Pandi, and Bulakan.


In Pampanga, classes in all levels in public and private schools in the cities of Angeles, Mabalacat and San Fernando as well as in the towns of Minalin, Magalang, Masantol, Mexico, Porac, San Luis, Apalit, Sasmuan, and Sta Rita were suspended.


On the other hand, classes up to elementary level, both in public and private schools, in the towns of Guagua and Sto. Tomas were suspended.


In Aurora, the local government of Dipaculao declared the suspension of classes up to elementary level, both in public and private.


Based on the regional weather forecast issued by the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) as of 5 a.m., the provinces of Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Bataan, Zambales, Pampanga and Bulacan will rains with gusty winds until 5 p.m. (PNA)
