Sixty-seven Chinese engaged in telecommunications, internet and credit card fraud had been deported aboard a chartered flight to Beijing, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said Wednesday.
The Chinese nationals were placed in the immigration blacklist thus banning them from re-entering the Philippines.
“They were deported for being undocumented aliens, which stemmed from the cancellation of their passports by the Chinese government,†according to BI Commissioner Ricardo David Jr.
The deportees were expelled following the summary deportation order that the BI board of commissioners issued against them after the foreigners were arrested last Sept. 28 at their safehouses in the cities of San Juan and Mandaluyong.
The BI said informants have tipped the authorities about the syndicate’s illegal activities which conducted surveillance operations that lead to their arrests.
