The Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD) seized late Tuesday several cartons of formula milk from China following an inspection of a mall in Iloilo City.
Radio dzBB's Iloilo affiliate reported Wednesday that BFAD operatives seized the cartons of milk from the SM City mall in Iloilo during a routine inspection.
According to BFAD operatives, the brand of the Chinese milk was not in the BFAD's records of milk imported from China and sold locally.
The report did not say how many cartons were seized during the inspection. It also said the mall management admitted selling the milk since last month.
Meanwhile, Iloilo City mayor Jerry Treñas ordered the City Health Office to coordinate with the Trade department in the inspection of repacked milk being sold in the city. - GMANews.TV
