Press Release from AFP
CSAFP Statement on Blackhawk S70i Crash
No words can describe our sadness for the Philippine Air Force personnel who were killed in the Blackhawk S70i mishap of the 205th Tactical Wing.
We extend our sincerest condolences to their families and offer assistance of any kind in this time of grief.
The chopper was undergoing night flying proficiency last night, June 23 when it failed to return to Clark Air Base, Pampanga.
Night proficiency training is part of our Air Force’s extensive preparation for both aircraft and crew prior its deployment to the different Unified Commands.
The search, rescue and retrieval operation for the crew and aircraft are currently working in earnest as we speak.
An investigation is underway to uncover the circumstances of the incident.
Again, we extend our sincerest condolences to the families of the brave pilots and airmen.
