The Philippine National Police (PNP), citing its accomplishments during the past year, is optimistic that a much better police service will be rendered by the organization to the public in 2011.
PNP spokesman Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz Jr. said the 137,000-strong police organization recorded significant gains in its Integrated Transformation Program (ITP) and its campaign against criminality throughout the country.
â€The gains we achieved for the past year will serve as our motivation to provide better police service for 2011,†said Cruz.
He noted that the PNP scored heavily in its law enforcement and anti-criminality operations, recording almost 40 percent decrease in the number of crimes for the period January to November 2010.
Cruz said that a total of 276,872 crime incidents were reported, which was 39.7 percent lower than the 459,130 recorded during the same period last year.
“We are doing our very best with the available resources to ensure the safety and security of the communities,†Cruz said. - pna
