Benguet suspends classes until May 31
« on: April 25, 2020, 07:48:20 PM »
BAGUIO CITY – Benguet Governor Melchor Diclas announced on Monday that classes in all levels in the province are suspended until May 31.

May 31 effectively also is the end of the semester and school year of all the private schools in the province, including the state university here.

Benguet has three major universities -- government-run Benguet State University (BSU) with its main campus at capital town La Trinidad and several campuses at the different municipalities, and the private universities Cordillera Career Development College (CCDC) and Kings College.

Students from these universities come from the different towns of Benguet, Baguio City, Mountain Province and other places in La Union and Kalinga province.

Diclas said the suspension of classes will prevent students from returning to Baguio and Benguet especially with the city which is still implementing a total lockdown, preventing non-Baguio and Benguet residents from entering the city.

The prohibition includes the residents who were stranded in other places. (PNA)
