Antique to donate land for NBI satellite office
« on: May 02, 2020, 03:34:09 PM »
SAN JOSE DE BUENAVISTA, Antique -- The local government unit (LGU) here will donate a 1,500-square meter lot for the construction of the planned PHP88-million National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) building in Antique, the bureau’s provincial director said on Friday.

NBI provincial director, Juan Ma. Damaso Autajay, said they are now finalizing the donation and surveying the proposed site in Dalipe village here.

He said that they are eyeing to have the Deed of Donation signed within the year. He added the PHP88 million construction budget will be funded by the NBI.

Autajay said their NBI satellite office is currently occupying a room at the Dalipe Tradetown here.

The NBI satellite office here was opened in 2015 to decongest the volume of clients transacting with the bureau’s regional office in Iloilo City.

Clients from Aklan and Capiz provinces now prefer to transact with the NBI office here as it is easier for them to get their clearances and other documents needed.

Autajay said the new NBI office will be a big help in enhancing their delivery of service.

In an interview, Mayor Elmer Untaran said they are donating the land, as the intelligence bureau is important in the light of many investments coming in to the province.

Untaran added that once completed, the NBI here would have one of the biggest satellite offices in Western Visayas.  (PNA)
