Barangay officials arrested a woman who they said was caught conducting an abortion on a 22-year-old who was four months pregnant last Tuesday afternoon in Quezon City.
Investigator SPO1 Rodrigo Barrameda Jr. identified the suspected abortionist as Marilyn Torres, 47, a resident of No. 27 Gitna St., Kaingin Bukid, Apolonio Samson, Quezon City.
Barrameda said that Torres was arrested by barangay public safety officers (BPSOs) after they said they caught her conducting an abortion on Catherine Castro, 22, married, a resident of 1356 Gana Compound, Barangay Unang Sigaw, Balintawak, Quezon City.
The investigator also learned that Castro paid Torres P2,000 for the abortion even though she was already four months pregnant.
Barangay watchmen confiscated at the house of Torres items used in the abortion including surgical gloves, two empty wrapper of Cytotic tablets, two empty wrappers of Naproxen.
