THREE Filipinos were reportedly killed in a road accident in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia last week, but the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has yet to receive confirmation about the incident.
According to a report on the Arab News site, three of the 10 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) died on the spot when the tires of the small pickup truck they were riding suddenly blew out, throwing them out the car.
The report identified the fatalities as Gerardo Bernal, Jenefrey Monteclaro and Karamuddin Dimalaya. Bernal and Monteclaro were mechanics while Dimalaya was a company driver. Their bodies remain at the King Fahd Hospital.
"The staff of the Philippine Consulate General are currently attending to them while helping the employer in expediting the repatriation papers for the remains of the fatalities," a spokesperson for the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah was quoted as saying.
