LEGAZPI CITY – Three health workers are among the six new confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases reported in Bicol, the Department of Health (DOH)-Region 5 said on Thursday.

DOH-5 regional director, Dr. Ernie Vera said the DOH Covid Tracker showed the six new cases bring to 28 the total confirmed cases in the region.

“From the 28 Covid patients, 20 recoveries were reported, four were admitted in government isolation facility, two were on home quarantine while two deaths (were) recorded,” he said in an interview.

Vera said the health workers that contracted the viral disease are a 25-year-old male from Naga City in Camarines Sur; a 40-year-old male from Camalig, Albay; and a 43-year-old female from Guinobatan, also in Albay.

“All patients were asymptomatic and their histories of exposure are still being established,” Vera said.

The three other new Covid-19 cases are a 64-year-old female from Tabaco City with history of travel to Quezon City and admitted at the Bicol Regional Teaching and Training Hospital; a 19-year-old male from Legazpi City who had close contact with a confirmed case; and a 33-year-old female for Legazpi City, whose exposure is being validated. (PNA)
